Basketball Recap: Monarch Comes Up Short

Monarch lost against South Broward back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Monarch Knights had to suffer through a 68-12 loss at the hands of the South Broward Bulldogs. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

South Broward's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayonna Lewis, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Lewis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paris George, who posted six points along with eight assists and eight boards.

Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for South Broward, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Monarch will welcome Coconut Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Broward, they will head out to challenge Flanagan at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th.
