Softball Game Preview: Hopkins County Central Storm vs. Russellville Panthers

The Hopkins County Central Storm will head out on the road to face off against the Russellville Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopkins County Central hasn't scored more than a single run for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hopkins County Central's offense. They lost 9-0 to Madisonville-North Hopkins on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Russellville challenged Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 19-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Wildcats since May 2, 2022.

Hopkins County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18-1. As for Russellville, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Hopkins County Central couldn't quite finish off Russellville in their previous meeting back in March and fell 7-5. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
