Softball Recap: Organ Mountain Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Las Cruces

Organ Mountain faced Las Cruces in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Knights lost 13-1 to the Bulldawgs. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Organ Mountain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elizabeth Aguilar, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Kyara Chavez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Organ Mountain and nudges their season record down to 12-6-1. As for Las Cruces, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Organ Mountain will welcome Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Las Cruces, they will venture away from home to square off against Alamogordo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
