Basketball Recap: State Line Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jackson Baumker and Brandt Dyer

State Line Christian fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Lakecrest Baptist on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to Lakecrest Baptist 67-62. The Patriots haven't had much luck with Lakecrest Baptist recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Brandt Dyer and Jackson Baumker certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dyer went 6 of 7 en route to 17 points along with eight boards and four steals, while Baumker went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points. Those 17 points gave Dyer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Worley, who posted 13 points.

State Line Christian suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 10-7. As for Lakecrest Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

State Line Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bowling Green Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. State Line Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season. As for Lakecrest Baptist, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Fostoria Baptist Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Fostoria Baptist Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Lakecrest Baptist surely won't give up without a fight.
