Baseball Recap: Westminster School Find Success

Westminster School's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Hotchkiss School Bearcats. The Martlets haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Zachary Jainchill looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Westminster School: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Westminster School secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Shaw Turton, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Westminster School's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Hotchkiss School, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Westminster School will venture away from home to square off against Trinity-Pawling School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Pride have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Hotchkiss School, they will take on Avon Old Farms at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight.
