Basketball Recap: Hendrickson Takes a Loss

Hendrickson was the 73-52 winner over Pflugerville Connally when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hendrickson Hawks fell just short of the Pflugerville Connally Cougars by a score of 41-39 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Cougars are ranked 194th).

Pflugerville Connally's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Phagans, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Scruggs, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points.

Hendrickson's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-17. As for Pflugerville Connally, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.

Hendrickson will venture away from home to face off against East View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hendrickson has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Pflugerville Connally, they will welcome Weiss at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Weiss' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
