Baseball Preview: Pebble Hills Spartans vs. Montwood Rams
The Pebble Hills Spartans are taking a road trip to face off against the Montwood Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Tuesday, Pebble Hills sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Coronado. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Mateo Contreras spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits.
At the plate, Pebble Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adriel Nevarez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Nevarez also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
