Volleyball Recap: Sophie Roberts' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clovis over Capital

It was a proper cat-fight when Clovis duked it out with Capital on Saturday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Jaguars 25-11 in the first set.

Clovis started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20.

Clovis lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sophie Roberts, who had 14 digs and ten kills. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Salazar, who had three digs and three aces.

Clovis has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Capital, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Clovis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Moriarty on the 27th. As for Capital, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Santa Fe Prep on the 27th.
