Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is West Campus' 11th in Last 13 Outings

West Campus extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Zach Villanueva. The West Campus Warriors walked away with a 61-49 win over the Valley Vikings on Friday thanks in part to Villanueva, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to six boards and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of West Campus' points.

Kiefer Wilbur was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024.

West Campus is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which is still a better percentage than their 5-20 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Campus will challenge Armijo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley, they will face off against Burbank at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Burbank has three straight victories, Valley has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
