Softball Game Preview: Dobson Mustangs vs. Mountain View Toros

Dobson hasn't had much luck against Mountain View recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Dobson will take on Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. Dobson has given up an average of 11.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dobson is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Williams Field, falling 16-1.

Meanwhile, Mountain View entered their tilt with Chandler on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolves, sneaking past 10-8.

Kylynn Sylvester was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since March 1st. Abbie Cameron was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Mountain View pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dobson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Dobson might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Mountain View when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Dobson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
