Football Preview: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Summerville Green Wave        
        
		
             The Sumter Gamecocks will head out on the road to  square off against  the Summerville Green Wave  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after  12-games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
 Sumter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Friday. They took down James Island 34-17. The 34-point effort marked the Gamecocks' lowest-scoring  contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
 Meanwhile, Summerville really took it to Ridge View for the full four quarters, racking up  a  49-20 victory. Considering the Green Wave have won nine games by more than 20  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Jayven Williams was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 167 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 124  rushing yards. Another player making a difference was  Jaden Cummings, who rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown.
 Summerville was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 221  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 191  rushing yards in 11 consecutive  matchups.
 Summerville's win was  their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 12-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.9 points. As for Sumter, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
 Sumter took a serious blow against Summerville  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023, falling  47-10. That  match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sumter was down  38-3.
