Basketball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Takes a Loss

Wilber-Clatonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 65-33 loss at the hands of the Fairbury Jeffs. The Wolverines were down 48-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Fairbury was led to victory by Izzy Ohlde and Evelyn Timmons. Ohlde went 9 of 21 en route to 25 points and six steals, while Timmons dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and 11 blocks. The dominant performance gave Ohlde a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Friesen, who posted six points along with 11 boards and seven steals.

Wilber-Clatonia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Fairbury, their record now sits at 4-7.

Wilber-Clatonia will head out on the road to face off against Centennial on Tuesday. Fairbury has already played their next game, a 47-33 victory against Auburn on the 17th.
