Basketball Game Preview: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Mount Si Wildcats

The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles and the Mount Si Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Clayton Valley Charter was able to grind out a solid victory over Varsity Opponent, taking the game 48-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ugly Eagles.

Cannon Simpson was nothing short of spectacular: he posted 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Grissom, who put up 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mount Si won against Mater Dei Catholic on Friday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Mount Si walked away with a 67-59 win over Liberty.

Mount Si's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.1 points per game. As for Clayton Valley Charter, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
