McEachern of Georgia and Imhotep Charter of Philadelphia to meet in Saturday's championship game.
A wild week of basketball at Florida SouthWestern State College continued in the semifinals Friday as Imhotep Charter beat No. 3
Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) 70-60, handing the storied Warriors their first loss of the season.
Imhotep Charter came out with more intensity from the opening whistle and
frustrated Oak Hill Academy defensively, holding them to four first-quarter points and outscoring the Warriors by 12 in the opening period. The two-time defending Pennsylvania state champions dominance continued in the second
quarter as they took a
shocking 35-15 lead into the intermission.
The
15 first-half points for Oak Hill Academy were the lowest total it has produced in a half this season. The Warriors went 16 of 52 from the field and 3 of 22 from beyond the arc but showed fight in the second half, cutting the deficit to single digits in
the fourth quarter.
But the
comeback effort wasn't enough for the third-ranked team in the nation as
the Warriors fell short despite a strong effort from star
Cole Anthony, who finished with 33 points and seven rebounds. The five-star point guard connected on 16 of 17 attempts from the free throw line.
Imhotep Charter was again paced by
2019 Maryland pledge
Donta Scott who finished with an efficient 25
points and six rebounds, going 9 of 12 from the field.
The other major contributor for the Panthers was senior guard
Fatayn Wesley, who delivered a strong defensive effort against Anthony.
With the win, Imhotep has beaten teams ranked among the top five nationally on back-to-back nights.
The Georgia contender held Mountain Brook to just eight points in the middle two quarters, stretching the lead to 15 points entering the final stanza.
Junior guard
Sharife Cooper led the way offensively for McEachern with 15 points,
Okoro added 12 and Northwestern commit
Jared Jones finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds. After losing last year in their semifinal contest, the Indians left no doubt in this one taking control early and never looking back.

Donta Scott was a major factor in Imhotep Charter's upset of Oak Hill Academy.
