Basketball Recap: Castlewood Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Natalie Akin and Cassidy Kirwan

On Saturday, the Castlewood Warriors came up short against the Faith Longhorns and fell 52-44. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Castlewood's loss came despite strong showings from Cassidy Kirwan and Natalie Akin. Kirwan went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points, while Akin posted ten points. What's more, Akin also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023.

Castlewood's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Faith, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Coming up, Castlewood will square off against Sioux Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sioux Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Castlewood likes a good challenge. As for Faith, they will take on Dupree at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
