Volleyball Recap: Valparaiso Comes Up Short

Valparaiso and Chesterton squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Valparaiso had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Trojans. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Valparaiso still got an impressive performance from Lily Simpson, who had 13 digs and one assist. Simpson has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Valparaiso's defeat dropped their record down to 17-15. As for Chesterton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season.

Valparaiso does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chesterton, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Portage on the 18th.
