Softball Recap: Alleghany Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Alleghany fell victim to Appomattox County and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 6-0. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 14-1 to the Raiders when the teams met back in June of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alleghany's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Appomattox County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Alleghany wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-10 loss against Brookville on the 5th. As for Appomattox County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 defeat against Abingdon on the 5th.
