Basketball Recap: Atlanta Classical Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Atlanta Classical Academy can now relate to. They lost 58-38 to the Taylor County Vikings on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Vikings are ranked 122nd).

Despite the loss, Atlanta Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Anna Gray Hart posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave Hart a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Sally Berry, who earned ten points.

Atlanta Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Taylor County, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.

Atlanta Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taylor County, they will head out to challenge Wilcox County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilcox County will roll in looking for their 24th straight win, something Taylor County surely won't give up without a fight.
