Softball Recap: Carrollton Comes Up Short

If Carrollton was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Alliance last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 15-1 to the New Philadelphia Quakers on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Quakers: they've now lost three in a row.

Carrollton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juliaunna Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Gracelyn Folk also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Carrollton suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 5-2. As for New Philadelphia, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Quakers beat Carrollton by a score of 12-0 later that day.
