Basketball Game Preview: Myrtle Point Bobcats vs. Coquille Red Devils

Myrtle Point is 0-10 against Coquille since December of 2014 but things could change on Thursday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 4:30 p.m.

Myrtle Point came up short against Lost River last Saturday, falling 68-43. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Raiders are ranked 72nd).

Meanwhile, Coquille posted their biggest win since January 9th last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 53-27 margin over Laytonville. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

This is the second loss in a row for Myrtle Point and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Coquille, their record is now 2-5.

Myrtle Point and Coquille were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Myrtle Point came up empty-handed after a 58-57 loss. Can Myrtle Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
