Basketball Recap: Woodgrove Comes Up Short on the Road Against Lightridge

Woodgrove had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Lightridge Bolts by a score of 54-52. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bolts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Woodgrove lost, don't look at Dane Marsh. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Marsh's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Roach, who posted 12 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Lightridge and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Woodgrove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 86-64 loss against Riverside on the 13th. As for Lightridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-44 defeat against Handley on the 14th.
