Baseball Recap: Kilgore's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Kilgore unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Spring Hill Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Cason Edney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Kilgore's loss dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Spring Hill, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-7.

While Kilgore had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
