Basketball Preview: Ingalls Bulldogs vs. Dighton Hornets
The Ingalls Bulldogs's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Dighton Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Ingalls has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Ingalls came up short against the Red Aces and fell 57-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ingalls in their matchups with the Red Aces: they've now lost eight in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tessa Irsik, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elly Jo Tancayo, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Dighton had to settle for a 40-37 loss against the Red Devils on Tuesday.
Ingalls' defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Dighton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Ingalls beat the Hornets 36-26 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ingalls since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
