Alcoa waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the McMinn Central Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 back in March.

Josh Simpson looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Levi Spivey was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Eli Graf was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Alcoa pushed their record up to 28-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for McMinn Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-13.

Alcoa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
