Soccer Recap: Columbia City Comes Up Short

After flying high against New Haven on Monday, Columbia City came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Carroll Chargers on Tuesday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Columbia City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Carroll are ranked ninth).

Columbia City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-2. As for Carroll, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 8-1-2 record this season.

Columbia City wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran on the 18th. As for Carroll, they have also already played their next match, a 4-2 win against Fort Wayne Northrop on the 18th.
