University City gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 55-16 victory over the Kearny Komets. The Centurions pushed the score to 41-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Komets had little chance of recovering from.
Kami Demara had a dynamite game for University City, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Topanga Tusantoso was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 steals.
Kearny's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
University City will square off against El Capitan at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kearny, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Monte Vista at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
