Ashland is 0-10 against Norton since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Clockers will venture away from home to face off against the Lancers at 4:30 p.m. Ashland has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Ashland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bellingham, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Clockers fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 11-9 on Friday. The Clockers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Ruby Khazadian was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three doubles, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Quinn Herter, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Norton entered their tilt with Westwood on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 8-3.
Liana Danubio made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, CeeCee Goodwin was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Lucy Perachio also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Norton pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Ashland might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Norton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Clockers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
