Baseball Recap: Bourne Takes a Loss

Bourne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fairhaven Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Luca Finton was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Finton was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Finton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Moran-Rose, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Moran-Rose has hit this season.

Bourne's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Fairhaven, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
