Basketball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin can now relate to. They took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Modesto Christian Crusaders on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (57), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, don't look at Benjamin Sandy. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-13 on his way to 17 points. Sandy continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Cephus, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Modesto Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-7.

Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Modesto Christian, they will challenge Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Modesto Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
