Basketball Recap: Wolfson Drops Season-High Score on Mandarin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wolfson). They walked away with a 65-53 win over the Mandarin Mustangs on Tuesday. For the Wolfpack, this counts as revenge for the 69-49 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2018.

Despite the loss, Mandarin saw an underclassman step up: freshman Enzo Lee posted 27 points. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for Lee. Another player making a difference was Andre Ling, who had eight points.

The win made it two in a row for Wolfson and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Mandarin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Wolfson will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Kenny at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mandarin, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Fletcher at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
