Softball Recap: Academy of the New Church Lions vs. Abington Friends
Academy of the New Church dropped their record down to 7-3 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They lost 16-4 to Abington Friends. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Abington Friends apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Academy of the New Church saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Henderson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases. Another was Jayda Mayo, who earned one run and two stolen bases.
As for Abington Friends, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.8 runs.
On Abington Friends' side, Lorelai Stirling was a major factor while hitting and pitching.
