Football Recap: Beaver Dam Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Wyett Avila and Alex Acevedo

Beaver Dam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 44-22 to the Round Mountain Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Diamondback of the 46-24 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Beaver Dam had strong showings from Alex Acevedo, who rushed for 42 yards and two TDs, and Wyett Avila, who picked up 84 receiving yards. Acevedo didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made three total tackles (1.0 for loss). Miguel Jauregui got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Beaver Dam's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Round Mountain, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaver Dam will welcome Spring Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Diamondback will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Round Mountain, they will host Sandy Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
