Softball Recap: St. Clairsville Comes Up Short

St. Clairsville extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-21 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the John Glenn Little Muskies. Considering the last time the Red Devils couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for John Glenn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

For John Glenn's part, they got a great performance from Kendall Snider as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Snider has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Babcock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Porter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

While St. Clairsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
