Softball Recap: Rich Hill Comes Up Short

Rich Hill extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-12 in the process. They lost 20-9 to Kingsville. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rich Hill of the 12-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Kingsville, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Kingsville's part, they got a massive performance out of Kylie Stout, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most runs Stout has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Hoover, who went 1-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Coincidentally, Rich Hill and Kingsville will both be playing Midway the next time they take the field. Rich Hill will head out to face Midway at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Kingsville will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
