Basketball Game Preview: Ardsley Panthers vs. Dobbs Ferry Eagles

The Ardsley Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Dobbs Ferry Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ardsley duked it out with North Salem on Monday. The Panthers walked away with a 72-60 win over the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Dobbs Ferry came tearing into Saturday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.1 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Yellow Jackets by a score of 75-66. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 281st).

Dobbs Ferry's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Ardsley, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.

Ardsley couldn't quite finish off Dobbs Ferry in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 63-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Eagles' Anthony Ficarrotta, who dropped a triple-double with 34 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. Now that the Panthers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
