Basketball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Takes a Loss

Sierra Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 41-29 to the Loyalton Grizzlies. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 97th in Nevada, while the Grizzlies are ranked 917th in California).

Catherine Petterson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Loyalton, putting up 19 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Mollie Griffin, who posted 11 points.

Sierra Lutheran's record is now 4-17. As for Loyalton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Sierra Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loyalton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-33 win against Paradise Adventist Academy on the 11th.
