Basketball Recap: Veritas Prep Gets the Win

Veritas Prep won the last time they faced Cicero Prep Academy, and Carter Perry did his part to make sure it happened again. The Veritas Prep Falcons claimed a resounding 66-36 victory over the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions thanks in part to Perry, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. He is becoming a predictor of Veritas Prep's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 7-2 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

The team also got some help courtesy of Rocco Guido, who posted two points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Veritas Prep's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Veritas Prep will face off against Tempe Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Veritas Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they will take on Ray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ray also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 55 points per game.
