Basketball Recap: West Broward Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pompano Beach last Tuesday, West Broward came back down to earth. The West Broward Bobcats were outmatched by the Cypress Bay Lightning and fell 55-23. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, West Broward still got an impressive performance from Lamaria Williams, who posted 19 points. The contest was Williams' fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Agam Gago was nothing short of spectacular for Cypress Bay: she went 6 for 9 en route to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Gago a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Oz, who put up seven points and seven boards.

West Broward now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Cypress Bay, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

West Broward didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-43 win against Plantation on the 30th. As for Cypress Bay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-20 loss against Blanche Ely on the 30th.
