Softball Recap: St. Michaels Saints vs. Colonel Richardson Colonels
St. Michaels was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to the Colonel Richardson Colonels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colonels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 on April 3rd.
Mercy Haddaway was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Haddaway was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs.
In other batting news, Kaelyn Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lola Browning, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
St. Michaels' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Colonel Richardson, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
St. Michaels does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colonel Richardson, they will welcome Pocomoke at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
