The Temple Christian Tigers will head out to challenge the Christian Academy Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Temple Christian has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Temple Christian took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against High Street Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out High Street Christian Academy 3-2 on Friday.
Temple Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 9-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-9.

Temple Christian can attribute much of their success to Madelyn Brown, who had five aces and four assists. That's the most aces Brown has posted over her last six contests.
Brown wasn't the only good servers: Temple Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of CHESS Christian. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Royals 25-21 in the first set.
Christian Academy took CHESS Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-13.
Temple Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Temple Christian has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 16 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Temple Christian skirted past Christian Academy 3-2 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
