Baseball Recap: Mendon Unity Takes a Loss

The matchup between Mendon Unity and Liberty on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs fell 12-9 to the Eagles. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mendon Unity saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Frese, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Frese has hit this season. Another was Asher Gray, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Mendon Unity's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Liberty, they pushed their record up to 4-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
