Lansing came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Edison Spartans. The game was the first time the Bobcats have beaten the Spartans on their field since May 25, 2018.

Lansing's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Lansing will have a chance to go back-to-back against Edison: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
