Naugatuck is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Monday. They came up short against St. Paul Catholic, falling 17-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 3, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Ansonia hit Wilby with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 13-1 to the Chargers.

Wilby's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Naugatuck, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
