Basketball Recap: Covington Comes Up Short

Covington lost against Bethel back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Covington Buccs fell 55-46 to the Bethel Bees.

Cameron Ahrens went supernova for Bethel, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. Another player making a difference was Michael Halleg, who posted eight points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Bethel, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington will host Northridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Covington likes a good challenge. As for Bethel, they will welcome Lehman Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bethel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
