Basketball Game Preview: Bastrop Bears vs. McCallum Knights

Bastrop is 6-0 against McCallum since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bastrop Bears will challenge the McCallum Knights at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in Bastrop's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

Bastrop will head out to face McCallum after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Bastrop took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anderson.

Bastrop's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Keyaira Limuel, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds, and Navaeh Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 22 boards. With that strong performance, Limuel is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Another player making a difference was Kenadee Lawhon, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, McCallum strolled past Richards School for Young Women Leaders with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 48-30. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Bastrop's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 31-4. As for McCallum, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season.

Bastrop took their win against McCallum in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 59-37. In that match, Bastrop amassed a halftime lead of 37-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
