Basketball Game Preview: North Greene Spartans vs. Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers

The North Greene Spartans will head out to take on the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Greene is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They managed a 45-41 win over Carrollton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Meanwhile, Greenfield/Northwestern had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three last Thursday. They strolled past the Spartans with points to spare, taking the game 70-56.

North Greene better keep an eye on Garrett Costello. He was instrumental in Greenfield/Northwestern's win, going 9-for-11 en route to 25 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Costello is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Griffin Rothe was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Greenfield/Northwestern pushed their record up to 20-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for North Greene, their win bumped their record up to 16-17.

Things could have been worse for North Greene, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-56 loss to Greenfield/Northwestern in their previous matchup last Thursday. Can North Greene avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
