Baseball Game Preview: Discovery Christian vs. McLaurin Tigers

Discovery Christian will challenge the McLaurin Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Discovery Christian has now lost eight straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 26.

Back in March, Discovery Christian didn't have quite enough to beat McLaurin and fell 6-5.

For McLaurin's part, Noah Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Johnson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lance Lowe, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Lowe has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.

McLaurin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .583 or higher in three consecutive games.

Discovery Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for McLaurin, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
