Volleyball Recap: Mcintosh Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Alpharetta

McIntosh faced Alpharetta in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Chiefs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. The Chiefs haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

McIntosh was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Alpharetta work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 30-28, 20-25, 25-17.

Braelyn Ottolini and Lilly Bracco certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Ottolini had 20 assists and six digs, while Bracco had ten digs and three assists. With that strong performance, Ottolini is now averaging an impressive 12.6 assists per game. Mya Conley also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Kailey Leonard was the offensive standout of the game as she had 14 digs and seven assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last nine matches.

McIntosh's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Alpharetta, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

McIntosh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Blessed Trinity on the 23rd. As for Alpharetta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against St. Pius X Catholic on the 26th.
