Softball Game Preview: Santa Monica Vikings vs. Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits

Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Eagles 11-1. The Jackrabbits might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Long Beach Poly got a great performance from Star T. Sepulveda as she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. T. Sepulveda has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emoni Lam Sam was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Alayna Veavealagi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Santa Monica's record is now 20-6. As for Long Beach Poly, their record now sits at 17-6.
