Troup will challenge Arp at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Arp will be up against a hot Troup squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 11. The Tigers blew past Sabine 16-1 on Tuesday.
Kiyah Arterberry made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Shiloh Sluder was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Olivia Anderson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Troup always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sabine only posted an OBP of .308.
Meanwhile, Arp made easy work of West Rusk on Tuesday and carried off a 16-4 victory. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Like Troup, Arp also got a great game from a two-way player: Addison Carpenter. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Carpenter was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Aubry Way was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Hannah Martindale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Troup pushed their record up to 23-5 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Arp, their record is now 25-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Troup hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Arp struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Troup beat Arp 8-3 in their previous matchup back in March. Does Troup have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arp turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
